Institute of Policy Dynamics
What a founding member signs up for

Join IPD’s founding cohort.

The honest version: the Institute of Policy Dynamics (IPD) is early. The resources are modest, the work is real, and the credibility we will build together does not yet exist — you would be lending yours to help create it.

The reward is ownership: founding members shape the mission, the standards and the culture in a way no later joiner can. We would rather have a small founding group that shares the standard than a large one that does not.

Before applying, review the research program, the Longitudinal Governance Panel, and IPD’s method and governance.

Roles we are looking for

Where you would fit, and what you would own.

01

Division leads

Own a field, set its research agenda, lead its fellows. A founding member with depth in any division — or an adjacent field that strengthens the whole — has a place here.

02

Founding board & advisors

Lend governance credibility and independent oversight. An independent voice that can constrain the founders is a feature we want, not a risk we tolerate.

03

Founding researchers & fellows

Do the work that sets the standard, and mentor those who follow. Capable people — known or unknown — doing rigorous research on the strength of evidence.

04

Operations & institution-building

The unglamorous, decisive work of turning an initiative into an organisation.

What we ask

Demonstrated expertise in a field relevant to one of the divisions.

Integrity — personal, financial, and civic.

A multi-year commitment to improving governance, the economy, and quality of life in the region.

We seek people irrespective of background, gender, ethnicity, religion or politics — conditioned only on these things.

What you get

Contribution-weighted membership, with a vote in how the Institute of Policy Dynamics is run.

A professional network of researchers, fellows, and advisors across the divisions.

Authorship and a public byline on research that engages government and industry directly.

A founding role in setting IPD's research standards and governance.

The next step

A conversation.

About where you would fit, what you would own, and whether the mission and method are ones you can commit to. Tell us a little about yourself and we will be in touch.

If this is something you want to help build, the next step is a conversation.
