Terms of Use
These terms govern access to the IPD website, its public research materials and tools, and any restricted service that links to them.
Last updated: 27 July 2026
1. Agreement and scope
These terms are between you and the Institute of Policy Dynamics (IPD), based at C-9, BAEC Housing, Amtoli, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh. By using this website or a service that links to these terms, you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
A dataset, software repository, competition, research protocol, or restricted platform may publish additional terms. Where specific terms conflict with these general terms, the specific terms govern that material or service.
2. Research, not professional advice
IPD publishes research, hypotheses, prototypes, datasets, visualizations, and commentary for public-interest and scholarly purposes. They are not legal, financial, medical, security, investment, or other professional advice.
Research may be preliminary, incomplete, revised, or later contradicted by stronger evidence. Illustrative charts and placeholder data are identified as such. You are responsible for checking sources, methods, dates, assumptions, and suitability before relying on any material.
3. Intellectual property and permitted use
Unless a page or repository states otherwise, IPD retains its rights in the website design, original text, graphics, branding, and compiled materials. You may link to public pages and quote reasonable extracts for research, teaching, journalism, criticism, or review with clear attribution and without implying IPD endorsement.
Project-specific licences control datasets, code, software packages, documentation, and downloadable files. An open licence applies only where it is stated. Third-party material remains subject to its owner’s terms. The IPD name, marks, and logos may not be used to suggest sponsorship, partnership, or approval without written permission.
4. Acceptable use
You must not use the website or its services to:
- break the law, infringe another person’s rights, or facilitate harm;
- gain unauthorized access to an account, system, dataset, or administrative area;
- circumvent access controls, probe for vulnerabilities without permission, or disrupt service;
- upload malware or use automated traffic that materially degrades availability;
- misrepresent research findings, provenance, authorship, or affiliation with IPD; or
- extract personal or restricted data in breach of a project protocol or applicable law.
Good-faith security reports should be sent privately to info@instituteofpolicydynamics.com before public disclosure.
5. Accounts and restricted services
You are responsible for activity under credentials issued to you and must protect them from disclosure. Access is personal unless IPD expressly authorizes a shared or institutional account. Notify IPD promptly if credentials may be compromised.
IPD may suspend or remove access where necessary to protect people, research integrity, data, systems, or the rights of others. Restricted research contributions may remain in the project record where retention is necessary for attribution, quality control, audit, or reproducibility, subject to the Privacy Notice.
6. External services and links
The site links to services operated by others, including government sources, GitHub, and Kaggle. IPD does not control their availability, security, content, or data practices. Visiting them is subject to their own terms and privacy notices.
A link or factual reference does not by itself mean that IPD endorses an organisation, product, position, or every statement on the linked page.
7. Availability and changes
IPD may correct, update, withdraw, or archive material and may change or discontinue a prototype or service. We aim to preserve durable public research, but do not promise that every page, download, or service will remain available without interruption.
8. Disclaimers and responsibility
The website and public tools are provided on an “as available” basis. To the extent permitted by law, IPD does not make implied warranties about uninterrupted availability, fitness for a particular purpose, or the absence of all errors.
IPD is not responsible for loss caused by use that ignores an express warning, relies on illustrative or preliminary material as settled fact, modifies a download, or depends on a third-party service outside IPD’s control. Nothing in these terms excludes a responsibility that applicable law does not permit IPD to exclude.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Bangladesh. The courts with jurisdiction in Dhaka will have jurisdiction over disputes, subject to any mandatory rule or agreed dispute-resolution process that applies.
10. Changes and contact
IPD may revise these terms as its services change. The date at the top identifies the current version. Continued use after a revision takes effect means the revised terms apply to later use.
Questions, permission requests, or notices may be sent to info@instituteofpolicydynamics.com, or by post to C-9, BAEC Housing, Amtoli, Mohakhali, Dhaka, Bangladesh.
